The PADI Open Water Diver course is usually completed in 3 to 4 days, depending on your availability and learning pace. We offer flexible scheduling to suit both travelers and locals.

Day 1

Orientation, theory review, and pool skills session in shallow, calm water.

Day 2

Ocean dives 1 & 2 will help you to practice the basic skills you learned in the pool and build comfort on water.

Day 3

Ocean dives 3 & 4, where you’ll learn more refined skills you will be able to deepen your knowledge and explore.

Day 4

You will be evaluated with a final exam and 1 additional fun dive, after which you will obtain your PADI certification.

No Prior Experience

You don’t need prior diving experience to join the PADI Open Water course in Costa Rica—this course is made for complete beginners.

Minimum age – 10

Minimum age is 10 years. All participants must be able to swim 200 meters and float for 10 minutes. No timed test—just basic comfort in the water.

Do I need experience to start the Open Water course?
