That’s why we have a simple and customer-friendly return policy.

Course Validity Period

Once a diving course has started, students have up to 6 months to complete all required training components (knowledge development, confined water, and open water sessions), subject to instructor and schedule availability.

After 6 months, the course will be considered expired, and additional training fees may apply to continue.

Course Deposits & PADI eLearning

To confirm any Diving Course or Program (except Discover Scuba Diving – DSD), a 50% deposit of the total course price is required at the time of booking.

Once the PADI eLearning access code has been activated and assigned to the student:

The deposit becomes non-refundable, as the digital materials are issued directly through PADI and cannot be reversed.

The eLearning fee is charged by PADI and is non-refundable once activated.

Course Cancellation Policy

If the Client decides to cancel a contracted Diving Course or Program, the following conditions apply:

After eLearning activation & more than 72 hours before the practical portion begins:
A cancellation fee of 100% of the deposit paid will apply (maximum 50% of the total course price).

Less than 72 hours before the start of the practical portion:
A cancellation fee of 100% of the deposit paid, with no maximum limit.
Rescheduling is permitted if cancellation is made at least 48 hours in advance, subject to availability.

No-Show:
A cancellation fee of 100% of the deposit paid will apply.

Once the Course, Program, or Fun Dive has begun:
No refunds will be issued once any portion of the service has started.

Fun Dives – Cancellation Policy

If the client decides to cancel a booked diving service, the following conditions apply:

Gulf of Papagayo
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled date:
100% of the deposit is retained.
Rescheduling is permitted if canceled at least 24 hours in advance.

Catalina Islands & Bat Islands
Rescheduling is permitted if canceled more than 72 hours in advance.
Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the service:
100% of the deposit is retained.

No-Show
100% of the total service cost will be charged.

Once the service has begun
No refunds will be issued once the activity has started.

Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) – Cancellation Policy

If the Client cancels the booked DSD activity:

More than 48 hours before the scheduled date:
Full refund of the amount paid.
If the client has already registered with PADI and accessed the eLearning materials:
USD 15 will be retained to cover the PADI eLearning activation fee.

Less than 48 hours before the scheduled date:
100% of the amount paid at booking will be retained.
Rescheduling is permitted if canceled at least 24 hours in advance.

No-Show:
100% of the amount paid will be retained.

Once the service has begun:
No refunds will be issued.
All services and schedules are subject to weather and ocean conditions.

Weather & Safety Cancellations

Safety is our priority.

If Life & Dive Costa Rica cancels a service due to:
Weather conditions
Ocean safety concerns
Government restrictions
Force majeure

The client may choose to:
Reschedule at no additional cost, or
Receive a full refund for the unused portion of the service.

Online Store

Life & Dive Costa Rica is an authorized retailer of premium diving equipment, including Scubapro.
Many products are sold under special order or backorder conditions due to international import logistics.

Product Availability & Delivery

Most imported products from the USA have an estimated delivery time of 15–20 business days under normal conditions.
Delivery timelines depend on manufacturer stock, international shipping, and customs clearance.
Some products may be listed as Backorder, with estimated availability of 2–3 months depending on the supplier.

In cases of extended backorder:
The customer will be informed before the supplier order is confirmed.
The order will only proceed upon the client’s acceptance of the estimated wait time.
Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed but are communicated transparently.

Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with Costa Rican consumer protection law:
Customers may withdraw from an online purchase within 8 business days from order confirmation.
Notification must be sent to: sales@lifeandive.com

Returned items must be:
Unused
In original packaging
In resalable condition
Refunds are processed within 8 calendar days from confirmation of withdrawal and/or receipt of returned goods.
Shipping costs for voluntary returns are the customer’s responsibility.

Non-Refundable / Non-Returnable Items

Activated PADI eLearning materials
Used regulators, masks, snorkels, wetsuits
Custom-made or special-order products
Backordered or imported-by-request items once the supplier order has been placed
